Cover Start Date |
This is the date you require your motor
trade insurance to start. |
| Cover
Required |
Third Party Only (TPO)
This is the minimum legal requirement for a trader to driver vehicles
on the road. It provides cover for any vehicles owned by the motor
trader, or in their custody or control (e.g. a customers vehicle),
whilst on the road or whilst temporarily garaged in the course of a
journey. However, TPO insurance will only cover loss, damage or injury
inflicted on a third party. Your own losses, damage or injury will not
be covered.
Third Party Fire & Theft (TPFT)
This provides the same level of cover as TPO, but also offers
protection in the event of theft or fire to a vehicle in the motor
trader’s custody, as well as third party damage or injury claims.
Comprehensive
This provides the same protection as a TPFT policy, but also includes
any accidental damage to the vehicles that the trader owns or has in
their custody or control. |
| Single
Vehicle Indemnity (maximum value of any one vehicle) |
This defines the maximum value of any one
vehicle in your possession at any time. |

usually the person that the motor trade policy is named in. |

social, domestic and pleasure use as well as motor trade use. It does
not cover vehicles driven in a secondary, unconnected business capacity.
Spouse (without business Use)
This provides cover for the wife/husband or common law spouse of the
proposer, where they both live at the same home address. It covers
social, domestic and pleasure use only.
Fellow Director
This provides an additional named director or business partner the
same level of motor trade cover that the policyholder has. It includes
social, domestic and pleasure use, plus the director’s own vehicles.
Employee
This provides a named employee of the business the same level of motor
trade cover that the policyholder has. It does not allow for social,
domestic and pleasure use, nor covers the employee ’s own vehicle. |
